It was extremely windy here with the reeds swaying violently but the Beardie was happy hopping along beneath the reeds next to a footpath.
It was oblivious to the half dozen or so birders trying hard to get a good photo.
We did a complete outside circuit of the reserve, quite a walk it is to, and very rewarding.
On our way to the visitors centre for a sandwich for lunch a Peregrine Falcon glided by!
After lunch I had another hour or so birding while Sue has a coffee and a natter.
Birds:
As usual there were bags of Wildfowl here and a few Waders are appearing now.
A pr. Pintail were a nice surprise, seen briefly on our long circuit.
Others:
Teal, Widgeon, Tufted Duck, Coot, Moorhen, Pochard.
Gadwall, Canada Goose, Greylag Goose, Great Created Grebe, Mallard, Goldeneye.
Shelduck, Heron, Mute Swan, Cormorant, Shoveler.
Reed Bunting, Kestrel, Stonechat.
Curlew, Redshank, Golden Plover, Lapwing, Oystercatcher.
Black Headed Gull, Herring Gull, Stock Dove, Pied Wagtail.
