Halifax Parish Church, Redcar Tarn, Raggalds Flood

Halifax Parish Church:

Sue had to visit Matalans , to return some of Abi's fashion show items from yesterday.
I took the opportunity to have a gander around the Parish Church area.

No sign of Pere. on Square Chapel.
The Church grounds had a good few birds flitting about.
Mostly Tit family with Goldfinch and Chaffinch.
A nice find was a pr. Grey Wagtail near the stream that runs under Matalans car park.
Also here a Pied Watail.

Redcar Tarn:

We took a drive out to Redcar Tarn, Keighley this aft.
A sharp cold wind was blowing here with some squally showers.
It was good to bump into and have a chat with Rod P.

This water holds a great number of birds for it's size.

Herring Gull, Black Headed Gull, Coot, Tufted Duck, Malard - Mallard Hybrids and with many a variation of domesticated Duck.
Canada Goose, Greylag Goose.
Lesser Black-backed Gull, Lapwing, Starling, Pr. Oystercatcher, Curlew, Pied Wagtail.

Top of the shop - Pr. Gadwall.

16:30 Raggalds Flood:

A look at the Raggalds Flood paid dividends, on the way home, with a pr. Redshank in residence.
(Predicted by B.S.  early this week!).

I also caught up with the Taylor Lane Pr. Little Owl, always brings a smile.

4 days until Spring and high pressure this week, should bring an influx of birds?
Amazing how few Meadow Pipits are about - but it might all change soon.
