I'm doing well these last few days for getting out.
Today the girls went to see Dumbo at Elland Cinema.
Nearly a repeat of yesterday's outing.
Very cool as I left Bradshaw to start, this fooled me into putting on my winter woollies.
These soon were stuffed into my rucksack!
It was mighty warm after Soil Hill with plenty of perspiration.
An enjoyable outing on a lovely spring afternoon.
Birds:
Not much moving in the sky.
Taylor Lane: Pr. Little Owl.
Soil Hill: Meadow Pipit, Skylark, 3 Kestrel, Pheasant.
Pr. Partridge flushed from distance above Ned Hill Track.
No call as they flushed with noticeably silent wings - I'd plump for Grey Partridge?
Coal Lane: Pr. Pied Wagtail.
Ogden Water (Prom): Very quiet. Moorhen, Mallard, Grey Wagtail.
Ogden Golf Course:
Curlew, Long Tailed Tit, Pheasant - disappointing, hoping for a chat.
Stodfold to Home:
Pr. Little Owl nr. Stodfold.
A low very fast moving dark brown bird, Mistle Thrush size left me wondering....
Greenfinch, Skylark, Curlew, Lapwing, Mistle Thrush.
Little Owl near home.
And a few other sp.
5 Little Owl seen in total today.
No ticks but good exercise, carrying a bag full of clothes about all day!!
