Wetherby

A beautiful warm and sunny day at Wetherby today.
3 Red Kite were seen from the car on the way there.
We enjoyed a short stroll along the river.

There was plenty of birdsong, bushes in bloom and trees now in leaf.

Photos, though, were extremely difficult to obtain with most birds flighty and glimpsed in distant bushes.

Willow Warbler (but only 2) were heard.
Whitethroat also heard and briefly seen.
Blackcap and  Chiffchaff.
Buzzard overhead briefly.

Chiffchaff were in good numbers but the river itself was bereft of anything of interest.

One Mallard had 13 Duckling in tow, possibly more than one Mallard's offspring though.
