Ogden Area - Day of the Meadow Pipit

Lots of jobs to do this morning so I missed most of the decent weather early on and had to settle for some hefty showers on my outing this afternoon.

The temperature caught me out as well, with a big woolly jumper given the sack for most of the outing.

15:10 - 17:10

Sue dropped me at Ogden and I started with a look up Back Lane for CK's Redstart or an Owl or 3 but came up blank.

The heavens opened and the walk to and around the water was a tad unpleasant with not much happening.

2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were about it.
The usual Willow Warblers and Tits but not a lot else seen on the way to the Golf Course.

The walk along the golf course track is always enjoyable with lots of different shades of foliage.

A good few Pipits (mostly in trees) were all Meadow Pipits.

Mippits  - LBJ's but very, very pretty birds when you look closely at them.

A Whitethroat was singing, out of sight, as I passed the maintenance building on the way up the track.
It was still singing later and did shown itself briefly.

A Song Thrush and a few Long Tailed Tits were knocking about.

On the way home a Greenfinch and 4 or so House Martin were high over Pavement Lane.

As I got to the door a Buzzard was being mobbed by crows but vanished behind the houses before I could get its mug shot.

Nice to be out and about.

A few pics:-

Whitethroat - best I could do!
