A late evening visit to Ogden Water today.
(Sleet in Bradshaw this aft - in may!!)
My first Swift of the year flew overhead >NE as I went across the Prom.
5 Tufted Duck on the water was a good count for here.
Other than the Tufties there were just a few Canada Geese and Mallard.
Great Spotted Woodpecker called from the west side trees but immediately went further west into woodland.
As I climbed up towards Back Lane a Green Woodpecker called loudly from close by.
A pr. Red Legged Partridge flushed soon after.
Later both the Green Woodpecker and the RLP were seen as I went along Back Lane. The RLP returning to the same spot as earlier.
Others:
Long Tailed Tit, Distant Treecreeper, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff ,Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Curlew, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail.
The spring weather is taking some getting here!
With apologies for the poor quality of the photos.
