16:00 - 18:00
A warm dry blustery sort of day today, a lot better weather than I had expected.
The river is very full at the moment.
An enjoyable outing with a few 'maybes' kept the interest going along nicely.
A Warbler at Brookfoot L.N.R. was probably a Willow Warbler but my 'look see' was interrupted by an inquisitive lady passer-by. (excuse No: 5).
A possible calling Tern near the fishing lake caught me out as I was chatting to a lady dog walker.
A quick glimpse was all I could manage, I got neither bins nor camera on it.
Unless someone else saw it (17:10 over Avocet building)?
A Buzzard was seen briefly near the Knowles pipe works chimney. But the photo aint worth posting.
A bird singing loudly, for a long while, behind the Avocet building was probably a Robin but I could not eyeball it and the song seemed very loud? Another Maybe.
Others:
6 Cormorant.
Pr. Grey Wagtail.
Great Spotted Woodpecker calling.
Family of Long Tailed Tit.
2 Heron, c15 Black Headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Earlier a speculative photo of a chimney from the North Bridge fly-over revealed a Corvid(?)... and a bit later … traffic flowing through the car park, known as the Sowerby Bridge road, was further slowed by a Gaggle of White Geese crossing it!
Looks like a Jackdaw John
ReplyDeleteNo reports of a tern either John. A might have been !
