Bradshaw - Raggalds Flood - Soil Hill etc.

12:30 - 14:15

Another afternoon of intermittent squally showers with a bit of sunshine and a local stroll.
I was a bit hesitant of going up to Soil Hill but in the end the weather was not as bad as I had expected.

Birds:

Along Bradshaw Lane - 2 Pied Wagtail and
4 Swallow that passed low and fast in migration mode.

A Little Owl was sheltering in a tree, seen from the Bonnet, just above Taylor Lane.
A second Little Owl was sheltering under a wall, thereabouts.

Raggalds Flood is filling up nicely.
Today there was a 1st Winter Black Headed Gull, a few Jackdaw and 3 Lapwing here.

Along Percy Road a few House Sparrow and Goldfinch were near garden feeders.

Soil Hill was very windy as expected with nothing dropping in except rain - just 8 Meadow Pipit seen.
Although I did not linger long here today!

My 3rd Little Owl was sheltering in the ruined threshing machine seen from Taylor Lane.

5 Stock Dove over Taylor Lane with a sixth flushed from underfoot by the Midden there.

A Herron battled against the wind as I made my way down Bradshaw Lane.

No winter Thrushes seen about yet, but I'm thinking that they feed on berries before foraging in the fields?

Nothing special birdwise again today, but given the weather, unexpectedly, a very, very enjoyable outing.

Perhaps a Professional Birder will take up residence in Bradshaw and accompany me -  and I'll find out how many Megas I'm missing on local my jaunts!!
