Hallas Bridge (Nr. Sowerby Bridge) to Salterhebble

A short (non-birding) walk along the canal late afternoon today.
A bright clear afternoon, coming dark as we got back to the car.

The few birds seen were Black Headed Gulls at both water treatment works.
4 or 5 Jays knocking about.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker called from the water treatment works at Salterhebble.

On our arrival back at the car, a large Raptor was seen in the distance.
Slow wingbeats then a pause.
I did get a few poor pictures in the fading light.
A Buzzard is my best guess(?).

Taken through the metal fence.

Some poor Raptor photos:-

  1. It's a great little spot at Hollas Bridge John. Looks ok for a buzzard, well fed by the look of it with a full crop.

  2. Cheers Dave.
I can't seem to get any light into distant Raptor photos.
Trouble is the Raptors don't hang about smiling!
