Hebden Bridge Walk am and local birding pm

Hebden Bridge Walk.

We parked in Sowerby Bridge and  caught the bus from Sowerby Bridge (Tuel Lane) to Hebden Bridge and walked back along the canal.

Apart from a heavy shower at the start of the walk the rest of the day was dry.
We stopped for a toasted teacake at the splendid 'Kitchen Café' on the canal at Mytholmroyd.
I could not justify ordering one of their marvellous curries at 10:30(ish) although it was very, very tempting!
Not a birding outing this, so I decided to count the Canada Geese along the way.

12 noon and a BIG plane flew low(ish) overhead with "Emirates" emblazoned on its bottom.

Birds:-

Canada Geese - 212 (2,50,2,48,12,12,1,3,50,4,18).

2 Goosander airborne - probably Female.
Cormorant.
Only 1 Heron seen, which is unusual.

Holdsworth to Bradshaw.

14:00 - 16:00 (ish).

A different world here - very, very windy but it was dry and bright.
Quite boggy in places.

Birds:-

2 Jay, 3 Mistle Thrush, Wren.
Little Owl and a few other sp.

Tough going in the wind.
