Elland to Sowerby Bridge

Abi and Emma to entertain as usual on a Saturday, today.
Another grotty, misty, wet morning was followed by a dark afternoon.
Sue had bought some tickets for the 3 'girls' to see Frozen II at a packed Elland Rex cinema.

After helping unload the wheelchair at the cinema I had a walk along a very dark canal path to Sowerby Bridge.

Birds of the afternoon were Goosander with 5 birds seen in the first mile along the walk.

3 Jay knocking about and a tree with c20 Blue Tits in it.
Long Tailed Tits could be heard calling along the walk.
A Heron near the weir at 'Hallas Bridge'?
2 Cormorant.
85 Mallard all together 5 mins from Sowerby Bridge - I guess one of the householders here was a Warburton Wanger.
It was quite dark as I made my way to Wetherspoons for a coffee, and the crossword, to wait for the girls returning to Sowerby Bridge.
As I walked along a very large dark bird , high over head, started the pulse going a bit, but I think it is another Cormorant???
The photo is not good enough to turn it into something more exciting!
After dropping Emma at Sowerby Bridge and Abi at Heckmondwike we had a real late evening pea-souper of a drive home!

Getting really fed up with the gunge - reminds me of Hebble buses and thick smog in Queensbury of the 60's.

Cormorant

Late on in the evening and very dark - Cormorant?

Cropped from above.
Got to be a Cormorant??
