The usual birding walk, with Sue dropping me at Ogden on her way to town.
A Sparrowhawk was seen nr. Bradshaw Cricket Club on our way there.
It seems to be very active of late, I keep eyeballing it.
A cold day with a brisk SE breeze.
Ogden Water was full of water and pretty quiet.
10 or so Common Gull and the same number of Black Headed Gull once over.
A look at the sluice area failed to find any birds, but I was fortunate to pick out a Kingfisher perched in the west side bushes.
It soon vamoosed though.
Also about were a Jay, Coat Tits and Goldcrests (high and very mobile) with Raven high over the top of the West side conifers.
I did think about lonely Soil Hill, and my eyes soon grew damp, but sometimes you just have to move on, so I choose the Bradshaw farm tracks instead.
A Kestrel was by Skye Lane end.
C70 Woodpigeon were airborne hereabouts.
A second Raven was high, being plagued by other corvids, as I passed the farms with a pr. Little Owl on the field walls.
Pr. Collard Doves near home.
Quite an interesting outing with a few decent birds popping up now and again.
Still awaiting the big influx of winter Swans and Rare Wildfowl that are 'just around the corner'.
No 1.
No 2
No 1 and No 2!
(If you can see 'em!)
