Pugneys Country Park - Wakefield

Quite a bit of toing and froing today but I did manage to squeeze in a bird of birding at Pugneys this afternoon.

A cold, gloomy day with the odd light shower.

Birds:-

Pied Wagtail, Lapwing, Mute Swan, Pochard, Wigeon, Gadwall, Shoveler, Goldeneye a real beaut. of a bird.
Herring Gull, Common Gull, Black Headed Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Cormorant, Coot, Moorhen.
Masses of Tufted Duck and Canada Geese.
Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Some 1st year large Gulls that I find their plumage very difficult to distinguish between Herring Gulls and Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

Kestrel and Sparrowhawk seen on the journey home.

Some of the above arriving at Ogden soon - hopefully.
