The rain and grot finally eased mid-afternoon today.
It was good to get the walking boots on and get out and about without getting soaked.
I had a walk up to Soil Hill and back, the light is fading rapidly now in the afternoon.
The wind had a northerly cold feel to it, but it remained mostly dry.
A distant Little Owl, my bonus ball, was difficult for my smaller camera to pick out, seen from Taylor Lane.
It plumage blending in with the mottled dry stone wall and the rusty gate that it was perched on.
A Kestrel was hunting over Soil Hill with 3 Fieldfare passing through, fast > E.
Just a few Gulls about and a solitary Mistle Thrush was seen at the bottom of Taylor Lane on my return journey.
Some dry and bright weather to come, and with snow in northern Europe, maybe the Whoopers will make an appearance this week (along with the Grosbeaks of course).
Snow Bunt still awaited...
