Manor Heath, Skircoat and Saville Park

Snow on the deck outside this morning and after a shopping trip to Bradford I was given a choice of an hours shopping in Halifax or an hours birding - alone.
After some soul searching and head scratching I opted for the less expensive option.

Redwing were the bird of the outing, very active all around this area.

Some differences in the plumage of some birds could possible relate to the Icelandic sp. but could also just be the difference in how my camera deals with the light at the time.

I had a good search for AC's Brambling, but with the outing being a spur of the moment thing, I didn't enquire of the exact whereabouts of the Brambling, trusting to luck.

I did not locate the birds and thought I'd dipped completely on Brambling.
As I passed Arden Road school, an optimistic and very long distant photo has revealed a Brambling.

Mistle Thrush were in good numbers also, with one trying (and failing) to protect a tree full of Berries, along Skircoat Road, from other Thrushes.

Another speculative photo of the Corona Chimney at Dean Clough as we passed shows a large bird on the corner.
Probably a Peregrine but I cannot get any colour into the very distant photo.
