Bradshaw - Ogden - Ned Hill - Home (and Caspian Update)

12:20 - 15:40.

My usual walk today, a bit of a weather sandwich, wet to start, wet to finish, dry in the middle.
The hail stones came along, catching me again along Ned Hill Track.
I gave the route over the top of Soil Hill a miss today.
A few Herring Gulls about up here but nothing else much.

Birds of note:

Bradshaw Tracks - Little Owl.

Ogden.

c40 Small Gulls.
56 Canada Geese.
Kingfisher.
Great Spotted Woodpecker calling.

A great moment when a large busy flock of Siskin, c30, dropped in, high, in the alders near the path.
I really struggled to get the camera, on high zoom, to focus on the birds and not the foilage.

Plantation: Stock Dove.

c65 Lapwing were in the Taylor Lane fields with a few small Gulls and Starling.

Caspian Gull update:

Following B.S.'s text earlier in the week and my visit to Redcar Tarn.
My photo of a 'different' Gull there has paid dividends with confirmation that the bird was a 1st Winter Caspian Gull -  a lifer for me.

Many thanks to B.S. and K.M. for all their Knowledge.

A memorable week.
