Iceland Gull Twitch - Redcar Tarn

A busy morning shopping was followed by a very wet afternoon doing the crossword.
Only so much crossword I can take so I asked Sue if she would like to look at Gulls at Redcar Tarn.
Sue opted to look at clothes with her friend Jane at Sainsbury's so I had a drive out to Redcar Tarn, Keighley.

I was hoping to catch up with the Iceland Gull originally seen by IH.

The awful weather improved on the way there and on arrival there was a few spots of rain before it dried up - cold though!

A number of birders were here including BS and KM.

BS pointed out the bird and I was lucky enough to get some pictures of the Iceland Gull and the Caspian as well.

The Iceland Gull flew off after I'd been there 15 mins or so and I did not see it again in the hour or so that I remained there.

Not every day you get a Lifer, a good do!

Amazing piece of water - Redcar Tarn.
I bet in would fit into Ogden Water, 50 times over, yet it gets so many Gulls in comparison to Ogden.

A Gullet?

Unsure of the ID of the Gull (front).

  1. Front gull, Herring with a fluffed up head. Round smaller head usually indicates a female. Glad you got the Iceland.
The LBB pic is a stonker.
