A really grotty day out and about today with heavy snow showers in Bradshaw early on causing grief.
Not much snowy stuff in Halifax though.
The showers died down and the lying snow soon dispersed leaving a cold, miserable, wet and windy day.
Not fancying Soil Hill or Ogden today, we had a run out to Shibden Park, where the plan was for Sue to have a cafe visit and I could have an hour's birding, checking out the Gulls.
The plan, however, failed on both counts with the café just closing (3pm) and no Gulls present.
As soon as I got out of the car, the deluge began.
A 10 mins circuit had to do instead!
Birds:
1 Black Headed Gull over.
4 Coot.
4 Mute Swan.
2 Moorhen.
3 Canada Geese.
c80 Mallard.
At least I got a 'tick' with my first local Coot of the year.
