Tuesday's Birds and a Tick or Two

A very dull, damp sort of day for the most part with just a 20 min. sunny interlude this aft.
Same menu as yesterday's, some garden sky watching, the usual short stroll and some more garden sky watching.
At least for this sort of SKY you don't need a dish.

Not much happening in the garden but a few bits.
Top of the pops was a Raven high >N and after examining a photo of a small bird hidden by branches - a Linnet.

I was tying out different shutter speed settings and it looks like I've picked up a very distant unidentified Raptor on a really, really poor photo - see what you think.

  • Surely not a Kestrel but ?? I was hoping for a more exciting Falcon. I'm hoping Peregrine.

The walk came good with a pr. Redshank and a pr. Pied Wagtail on the ever dwindling Raggalds Flood.
Elsewhere on the walk:-
Pr. Stock Dove a second pr. Pied Wagtail.
Rook, Kestrel.
Woodpigeons were on the move with two flock in excess of 25 > N.

Calderdale list is now 79 and the garden list 32.

Obscured Linnet

Cropped pic of Unidentified Raptor above - miles off.
