The temperature though took a major nose dive with a biting, blow from the north, making the garden flipping freezing this morning.
A short sky watch did not produce much, so I took to the crossword and later a book.
The afternoon was much better, temperature wise (but not bird wise) with bright blue skies and sunshine.
But it remained cool.
The exercise walk via the farm track and Ned Hill etc was a quick affair with not much dawdling.
A speculative photo of Soil Hill main track from Percy Rd. shows 2 Woodpigeon and also 2 other birds.
But the other 2 birds are ……????
Probably another Woodpigeon and a Skylark.
On second thoughts it's a Raptor!!
Sparrowhawk?
Not much seen from the track and lanes, either, today.
Fantastic light in the scope, from the kitchen window, this afternoon failed to produce anything of note.
Ideal territory for Ouzel or Wheatear but not today.
Birds:
Coal Tit, Heron.
Meadow Pipit, Linnet, Pr. arguing Cock Pheasant.
Mistle Thrush.
No Raptors or Gulls seen.
I'm running out of Robert Crais books as well!
