Another sunny day with the strong easterly wind persisting.
Rumour has it that it is going to take a hike tomorrow.
Might get some Terns over? If we can see them in the grey/blue clear skies!!
A garden 'tick' early on today with a short lived singing Willow Warbler, taking my list to 42.
Also about a Green Woodpecker and a Pheasant both calling.
3 Lesser Black-backed Gull 2 > N 1 > E.
Rook. 5 Swallow seen throughout the day from the garden.
The exercise walk also brought a yearly 'tick' , now 84 'ticks' ,in the shape of a very elusive Whitethroat, heard singing then seen in the small Ned Hill Track bushes.
It sang for a while before moving out of sight to the top of the hill.
I fired off a few pictures of the general area where the bird was flitting about and landed lucky - capturing the bird.
A Willow Warbler was singing here also.
Also seen along the walk:-
Pr. Canada Geese, 2 Linnet, a second Willow Warbler, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, 2 Swallow, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull > N.
Distant Little Owl.
Not a bad outing today - still struggling for a Wheatear.
