The field path from home to Ned Hill Lane has some interesting terrain.
This morning the Little Owl was in residence on a field wall.
Whilst scanning for the Little Owl I chanced upon 2 distant Red Legged Partridge feeding near a field wall.
A Green Woodpecker called a couple of times from near East Croft Farm but when I eventually arrived there I could not locate the bird.
After passing the farm buildings a Wren was in good voice on a wall.
A Mistle Thrush flew over my head as I attacked the big slope up Ned Hill Lane.
I opted for a longer loiter along Ned Hill Track and gave Soil Hill a miss today.
A Stock Dove and a Pheasant were on the track.
At the far (north) end there was some shelter from the wind and lots of bird song.
2 Willow Warbler, Chaffinch, Linnets and a Whitethroat (singing in flight) were in a singing competition.
Taylor Lane had 2 Curlew, 2 Stock Dove and 3 Pied Wagtail.
Also here my second Little Owl of the day.
A few other sp. completed an enjoyable outing.
A pr. Mistle Thrush were seen through the kitchen window as we had our lunch.
The afternoon garden watch brought with it:-
Mistle Thrush, Pr. Collard Dove, Large Goose type >W.
Heron, Sparrowhawk, 2 Mallard and a few large gulls, invisible to the naked eye, slowly drifting W.
The Little Owl is on the far wall
Full Zoom from the same vantage point
Ned Hill Track bushes - don't know what.
Some benefits of lockdown:-
