A Cold wind early on was soon replaced by some very pleasant sunshine this afternoon.
An interesting exercise walk today with a couple of 'ticks' along the way.
Bradshaw fields had a Calling Green Woodpecker, Little Owl, Stock Dove and Pr. Red Legged Partridge.
There is a large amount of gorse on the hillsides on the way to Ned Hill Lane end, sure to attract something special if I persevere.
Today, however, just a Linnet here.
Along the farm track Long Tailed Tit, Willow Warbler a large White Butterfly with Orange wingtips.
Good to bump into NK along Ned Hill Track and with his info and D. Br. grapevive text earlier I was able to locate the Sand Martins when I arrived at the quarry. There were 3 Sand Martins here today.
Also nice to chat to KM on his exercise hike over Soil Hill.
Birds about on the hill were Curlew, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat, Skylark, Meadow Pipit and a few other sp.
Seen from Taylor Lane was a Kestrel and my second Little Owl.
A look at the fields as I came down Bradshaw Lane, revelated a Grey Partridge - a rare bird for me.
A sunny afternoon garden watch was not easy with the clear blue sky.
My usual garden sp. seen with a calling Green Woodpecker and a Buzzard.
