A busy day today.
Firstly we had to pick Sue's car up from Lepton, Huddersfield where it was having some pound notes lavished upon it.
A dull misty sort of morning in Bradshaw gave way to some sunshine at Lepton.
I sloped off to the garage car park while Sue donned her mask entered the office and peeled off loads of readies, from the large stash she keeps in the back pocket of here jeans, for times just like these.
It is strange how cars knows it's approaching Christmas and they want to have the spondulicks squandered upon them before we squander it on important presents like binoculars and cameras.
The car park was quite interesting with some good berry bushes and some birds flitting about while I waited.
Pick of the bunch was a Song Thrush while 3 Fieldfare passed overhead.
Bingley St, Ives:
We had our exercise walk at St. Ives where the weather was calm but very dull - not a bad day for late November really.
It was busy along the main paths but the outer paths were nice and quiet.
Birds:-
The usual woodland species but not a lot showing off.
2 Nuthatch, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Jay (12 plus) seemed to be everywhere.
A large flock of small Gulls were in the fields opposite the Garden Centre also included Herring Gull and Lesser Black-backed Gull.
The Coppice Pond held a nice surprise in the shape of a Drake Mandarin.
2 Adult and 7 Juv. Mute Swan approached us the adults 'grunting' pig like - so not completely mute?
Tufted Duck. Moorhen, Black Headed Gull.
and a few other sp.
An enjoyable afternoon's walk.
In the late afternoon gloom , Gulls headed to roost over Denholme seen on our journey home.
Also here a large flock of what must be Woodpigeon?
Wow that's a belting Mandarin John.
