Ogden and a real good soaking

I did not get out and about until after lunch today, just a Buzzard seen from the garden, holding nearly motionless in the near gale,  high over Oats Royd.

I went outside to try and eyeball the 2 sets of Pink Footed Geese that came close by me early on, reported on the grapevine, but both sets eluded me.

It was that sort of day today.

A good way around Ogden, I was wondering whether to do a second lap when a massive deluge, blown on the SW gale , wet me through and sent me packing, up the path through the woods to the car park.

Having cut short my Ogden circuit, opting for the car park path, rather than doing the whole round I dipped on a Teal and a Widgeon that were seen by B.S.

Birds:

Usual Gulls as far as I could tell, many way out in the middle of the water.

A small flock of birds on the west side had Long Tailed, Blue Tit , Goldcrest,

Great Tit, Coal Tit, Robin and a few Blackbirds in it.

Not a day I'll remember.

  1. Always good to get out for a 'scan' and fresh air at some point in the day John.
