Ogden to Home

Lots of Pink Footed Geese being reported moving West this morning.

I kept having a gander outside when the texts arrived but failed to pick any up - they seem to go south of Bradshaw.

Anyway,  I had a scan with the bins later this morning, from the lounge window, and picked a skein far off to the south of me heading west.

Outside and I could just get them in the bins but they disappeared into the low clouds before I could get any sort of photo.

Ogden etc:

Sue dropped me at Ogden this afternoon, a good job I did not bring the car, too, the car parks were full to bursting.

Back Lane was a bit of a river and just 2 Pheasant were seen here.

Some drizzle interspersed with the odd bright bit, but mostly dull today, with the snow almost gone.

Great to chat with one of the GI Brothers at the top of Ned Hill Road, I was ready for a breather by then.

Home was... Syke Lane, Ned Hill, Percy Road and Taylor Lane.

It was getting dark and anyway, I was too pooped to do Soil Hill as well.

Birds:-

Ogden was alive with birds moving about, the water was disappointing though with just the usual Mallards and c60 small Gulls as far as  could tell.

A Dipper was down in the sluice area.

3 Great Spotted Woodpecker were in the same trees at one point!

4 Nuthatch here must be a record for me at Ogden.

(Again 2 Nuthatch were in the same tree).

A cracking Reed Bunting, one of my favourite birds.

Plenty of the usual Tit species.

Goldcrest and a good few others.

The  walk home was a dull affair brightened by a Little Owl, seen from Taylor Lane.

A small flock of Lapwing (21) were very distant, seen,  as I looked from Taylor Lane towards the Raggalds.

All in all an enjoyable outing.
