Soil Hill, Thornton Old Railway etc.

A walk up to and around Soil Hill early doors.

Misty to start but brightened up into  a lovely day.

Pretty quiet but I did get  the Taylor Lane Little Owl and  9 Fieldfare on the wires along the main Soil Hill track.

The Fieldfare soon moved down into the field by the comms. mast where there could well have been more out of sight.

I met up with DJB and we enjoyed a walk about.

2 Reed Bunting and a Snipe were seen with the usual Gulls Sp. passing over.

A Kestrel was on a wall, seen from Taylor Lane on the way home.

Blue Tit was singing along Bradshaw Lane, reminding me of spring.

Our exercise walk was along Thornton Old railway track to the Queensbury tunnel and back.

Quite cold but bright here, birds of note were just Bullfinch and Jays moving about.

A half hour sky watch from the garden, near dusk, was rewarded with a distant Buzzard above Oats Royd.

Mist gathering in the valleys late evening.,...

Looking SE from Taylor Lane - the sun is on its way.
