Golden Plover Dip

Snow and sleet showers off and on all day today.

Sue had a trip to Halifax after lunch and she dropped me off at the Shelf  trailer park to try for B.S's Goldies seen earlier.

She agreed to pick me up on the way back leaving me with 45 mins or so look-see.

After a good scan around the fields I had a walk along High Cross Lane and them Cross Lane, back to the trailer park.

No sign of the Goldies but there were some birds about adding to this years' tick list.

Birds:

A mixed gathering of Rook, Jackdaw and Carrion Crow.

13 or so Fieldfare.

Starlings.

5 or 6 Lapwing.

Mistle Thrush.

It was quite difficult to see at times especially when the sleety stuff arrived with the birds in amongst the snowy clods of earth.

Enjoyable non-the-less.

A Sparrowhawk made a visit to the garden late afternoon, fortunately it did not nab any of "my birds"!
