A shed load of snow yesterday took some shifting with neighbour Chris (and a shovel).
The forecast thaw set in late afternoon and continued through the night but there is still plenty of the stuff left here yet.
Thick slushy and wet, quite awkward to walk through.
A dull, wet, foggy morning and after 2 crosswords, some reading and some internet surfing it was time to move out!
It was pointless going up Soil Hill with the place shrouded in thick mist so I opted for a local outing.
Walking along the snow fields to Ned Hill Bottom and left along Cow Hill Gate Lane to Keighley Road, then down Blind Lane and along Pavement Lane - home via Bradshaw Park.
A lot of trudging ,and, as expected, not a lot to see - still its good to get out and about.
Birds:-
I could not find the Little Owl in the mist today!
Just beyond East Croft Farm 2 Goldcrest were flitting about in some conifers (I don't know the name of the conifer) - this was to be the highlight of the outing.
The usual contingent of Jackdaws were by Matthews Farm with c10 Goldfinch.
Just a few Gulls flitting in and out of the mist -Mostly Common Gulls, with one Herring Gull.
Woodpigeon, Blackbird, Dunnock, Chaffinch, 4 Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Blue and Great Tit in the park.
With a few other common sp.
