Bradshaw , Soil Hill circular

After some football with Abi and Sue in Bradshaw Park this afternoon, I continued my exercise outing by walking along the fields to Ned Hill and then up to and around Soil Hill, while the ladies went home to do a jigsaw.

A very windy outing, the wind especially strong along Soil Hill's west side.

By the time I'd got up to the hill I was too whacked to do much other than a short circuit along the contour path and home via Taylor Lane.

Tough going, as expected in the wind.

Birds:-

The 2 Little Owl were kind enough to hunker down by the usual broken wall as I approached East Croft Farm.

Just Jackdaws and Woodpigeon seen as I went past the farm buildings.

3 Large Gulls overhead, 1 was a Lesser Black-backed Gull.

A Kestrel was making good use of the wind, hunting over Ned Hill Track.

A few Meadow Pipit and Skylark flushed as I went along Soil Hill.

2 Stock Dove overhead and a couple of Feral Pigeon on the Taylor Lane midden.

Nothing much else seen after that.

A Sparrowhawk? flew overhead when we were at Wyke earlier.

I managed a poor photo of the Sparrowhawk, through the car window.

Loads of warm southerly wind in the forecast in the next few days, after rain tomorrow, will hopefully bring some migrants through.
