Ogden / Raggalds Flood (again) Saturday

Another cold day with squally showers and a strong wind.

I had another visit to Ogden(in this weather you never know what might drop in) parking on the main road, opposite Coal Lane to avoid a Saturday scrum.

I had a quick glance at Raggalds Flood (going and on my return). Lots of juice - just a few Crows.

Ogden:

Quite busy, people wise, given the weather.

Birds:

1 Oystercatcher flew over > N, calling.

2 Common Gulls  on my arrival with 2 Black Headed Gulls, 3/4

Common Gulls and 6 Herring Gulls passing through.

8 Canada Geese with the Mallards.

3 Goosander (1Male and 2 Female types).One caught a fish.

They stayed as far away as possible the whole time.

Long Tailed Tits on the feeders and a few on the way around.

Robin and Blackbird.

Very few 'common' Tit species seen.

Oh well, beats listening to Sponge Bob Square Pants, Patrick and Squidward.

I am due some Waders soon.

During this rough weather it would be nice to have a local (Calderdale) reservoir, where I could park up and check out the birds from the car.

  1. Nice gull with 4 wings John. Agree about the 'ressie' think you're after moving Ringstone to somewhere nearby. !
