Soil Hill etc

The usual birding walk, up to the Raggalds (no water), up Percy Rd, around Soil Hill down Taylor Lane.

Breezy, mild and dry - a quite enjoyable walk.

Soil Hill / Ned Hill Top:

Moorhen, Pr. Mallard,2 Lapwing.

26  Starling, c20 Woodpigeon.

9 Magpie, Carrion Crows.

1 Skylark singing.

3 Herring Gull, 1 Common Gull in the fields.

A few Gulls passing overhead, periodically, but not many.

1 Meadow Pipit.

Elsewhere:

c50 Starlings in rapid flight.

A distant Sparrowhawk was perched on a post in the Little Owl field.

(No Little Owl - probably avoiding the Sparrowhawk)

Not a lot else.

  1. Not too bad John - better than I got. Mist came down at Cold Edge and that was it !

  2. That's tough Dave , we normally suffer the foggy stuff if there's any going. I still haven't made it to cold edge.
