The usual circuit this morning awaiting for Abi to arise from her slumber.
I was hoping for Ring 'O', having seen them in both Bradshaw Fields and on Soil Hill but no luck today.
The birds of the day were Little Owl with 5 seen in 4 different locations.
Bradshaw Fields / Farm Track:
Pr. Little Owl (1 & 2).
c20 Woodpigeon, 4 Stock Dove, Linnet.
Jay - an unusual bird for here.
Collard Dove.
Ned Hill / Soil Hill:
Pretty quite again.
4 Lapwing, 3 Curlew, 3 Skylark singing, c10 Meadow Pipit.
Little Owl (3) on the wall, seen as I looked west towards Soil Hill End Farm.
4 Pheasant.
A 'metallic' bird call (that I though was my Whats App) came from the bushes above the north slope - had me beat!
Percy Rd / Taylor Lane:
Little Owl (4).
Lapwing
2 Canada Geese overhead - looking at the photo another bird was seen with them- Raptor ? Buzzard?
Bradshaw Lane:
Little Owl (5).
Bradshaw Park:
The footie was abandoned when a heavy 'hail-flake' shower arrived!
The cricket club looked to be getting ready for a match.
Just a Pied Wagtail on the bowling green was of note.
House:
Doing the washing up I noticed some large birds high in the sky outside, ran to get the camera, and stood in the garden in my slippers, in a snow flurry, trying to get some photos - Abi and Sue think I've lost the plot!
2 Buzzard soaring together, slowly edging west were being mobbed by what I though was a possible Raven, but the tail is wrong.
