Leeshaw Reservoir and Soil Hill etc

A run out this afternoon through Hebden Bridge and over the moors to enjoy an ice cream at Oxenhope.

We had a short visit to Leeshaw along the way.

It was good to chat with local birder Sharon, who was very knowledgeable about local Owls and other Raptors.

Sue dropped me at Ned Hill Track and I had a look around Soil Hill on my walk home.

Good to chat with GH and his boss!

Birds:-

Leeshaw:

Meadow Pipit, Lapwing, Canada Goose, Greylag Goose.

Oystercatcher, Redshank.

It was pleasing to get a Dunlin, although it remained asleep during my short stay.

Soil Hill p.m. and Local evening:

Soil Hill was quiet.

1 Skylark, 3 Lapwing, 2 Curlew.

1 Willow Warbler, 2 Pheasant.

1 Snipe chipping, 2 Oystercatcher.

3 Large Gulls over , one a Lesser Black-backed.

6 Meadow Pipit, 3 Stock Dove, 2 Swallow.

1 Little Owl.

Local evening stroll:

6 Linnet on telephone lines.

2 Swallow.

Green Woodpecker called (not seen).

Red Legged Partridge "clucking" - not seen.

A bird singing (not seen) which is a Wren - but something is nagging at me saying it isn't!!
