Local Evening Outing

Abi with us today, so it was football in Holmfield Park for us three plus some mountain biking around the 'assault course' for Abi.

This aft, out came the paddling pool while I sky watched for a bit.

I did get out for an hour, after tea, for a walk up the local fields.

Garden:

2 Buzzards were very high floating north, no sooner had I seen them did I loose them again in the thin cloud.

A few Swallows passed North, at last.

Another "large bird", mega high > N. that looked like a Gull, but wasn't, did not come near enough to get anything to ID it.

Local Fields:

Just a short stroll up the local fields where 2 Cock Pheasant flew after each other, landed, then ran like the wind - they can sure run, can't they?

2 Greenfinch.

2 Stock Doves (seen three times) - probably the same ones

A pretty good reward was a Green Woodpecker that left a distant tree to disappear behind a hill.

I was chuffed to re-locate it, feeding on the hillside, a little further along.

No Little Owl in the 'usual' spot but one was kind enough to pose (for half a mo) on a wall near Brandy Hall.

A Mistle Thrush was hereabouts also.
