A very hot birding outing today with a few birds for company.
I started off at Rocks Road, Ogden where Sue dropped me off.
I Did a circuit of Ogden Water and left via the Golf Club House, along the stream and up past Brooke House and along Cow Hill Gate and Ingham Lane to home.
Birds:-
I decided to count Ogden singing Willow Warblers and got to 23 as I was leaving for the Golf Club.
Which must be some kind of record!
Moorhen, 1 Herring Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, pr. Tufted Duck, 6 Canada Geese, Mallard with some Mallard-lings and a Heron seen on the water.
(A second Heron was by Brooke House).
Also on the circuit Coal Tit, Grey Wagtail, 3 Chiffchaff, Nuthatch
A Curlew called from the NE moors.
Buzzard.
on the way home..
A Kestrel was hunting over the golf course.
2 Nuthatch
A few Meadow Pipits.
Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Treecreeper.
4 Linnet.
By Bradshaw School a Raptor (probably a Sparrowhawk) flew low fast, pursued by a crowd of Jackdaw.
A single Swallow and a second Sparrowhawk were high over the house.
Some Th (Robin) from the old feet today.
One very, very light Yellowy / Green Butterfly with other Yellowy / Green Butterflies.
The colour reminded me of a High Viz jacket, if that makes any sense.
