A cracking afternoon to be out and about, some warm sun, and no rain - too hot eventually with a lot of my warm gear in the pack.
Ogden Golf Course, behind the maintenance building, was buzzing with bird song and I spent an enjoyable time on the search for a megga Warbler of Pipit.
My circuit of the water was quiet (again) and the walk up Ned Hill Track took it's toll on the old legs.
It was good to catch up with DJB and have a chat with him outside his house.
Birds:-
Golf Course Area:
4 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, Linnet.
At least 4 Stonechat, 2 Bullfinch.
2 Reed Bunting.
Swallows, House Martin and Swift high, fast and difficult to pin down - best est:-
4 House Martin, 4 Swift, c8 Swallow.
A long hunt for a hidden bird calling eventually found the young bird.. but I'm not a lot wiser regarding the sp.
I though Dunnock at the time but the photo hints at a possible Blackbird.
Ogden Water Area:
8 Willow Warbler, 8 Lesser Black Gull, soon dispersed leaving just one on the water. Cormorant.
2 Treecreeper, 3 Chiffchaff. Heron. Coal Tit.
4 Canada Geese, 2 Bullfinch.
Elsewhere:
Linnet, 2 Swallow, Skylark and a Little Owl.
(Nothing on a small Raggalds Flood).
