Local Fields /Garden (Fri. 2nd July)

Just managed a short birding walk up the local fields after lunch on Friday and, later, a sit about in the garden.

Warm, humid and sunny with nearly no wind.

Birds:-

2 Little Owl, Whitethroat, 2 Meadow Pipit ,4 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Wren, 1 Bullfinch.

A Red Legged Partridge was heard but remained unseen.

A Stock Dove and a few Swallows was about all.

During my garden roost a Buzzard was seen mega high over Oats Royd with Lesser Black-backed Gulls soaring. They too were high and distant.

Nearing dusk a Sparrowhawk dashed past pursued by c10 noisy Swallows.

Some signs of migration reported along the east coast so maybe this week might bring an improvement to previous weeks sightings?
