Red Kite - Shelf Park Walk \ Hag Lane Swalesmoor

It was extremely windy in Bradshaw today.

To get out of the wind we opted for a walk from Shelf Park.

Not really a birding walk but I took my camera just in case.

An enjoyable saunter and amazingly calm in the woodland.

After lunch I had a short drive over to Swalesmoor for a birding walk along Hag Lane where there is shelter from the wind.

The birds however did not agree with my assumption regarding the lack of wind and stayed away, big style.

Some Birds on Shibden Park lake were too distant to ID.

Lots and Lots of Red Berries now - some looked delicious but are probably poisonous to humans?

It was Deadsville with a capital D.

  1. Always a difficult call in autumn John and perhaps more like an adult brd than a juvenile. It does look quite pale but the dark grey flanks suggest winter Pied. Rump and collar are other pointers but can't see them on this bird. A good try I think. DJB might help !

  2. Many thanks Dave.
I needed some different views \photos of the bird really.
But it was high on a barn roof for a few moments before it left.
    Interesting nontheless.
