Blackmoor Foot Reservoir

We had some problems to sort out today involving a trip to Huddersfield centre and also Honley.

Afterwards I had a very brief look at Blackmoor Foot Reservoir in dull drizzle.

I was hoping for a Diver species or a rarer Duck.

4 Goosander and lots of Gulls were as far away from me as possible as I approached the reservoir from the road!

Mallard.

I took some photos of the Gulls to look through after tea.

Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Common Gull and Black Headed Gull here.

One Black Headed Gull has a full hood of dark brown which stood out as 'unusual' for this time of year?

I did walk around the reservoir but the photos are all very, very poor, given the dull conditions, alas.

Elsewhere:

Passing the trailer field, on our way home, a large flock of Gulls took to the air.

Also today a Peregrine Falcon was seen.

Out and about:

This Common Gull had a Kittiwake look about it.
(Clutching at Straws today I'm afraid).
