Raggalds Flood and Local Walk

I had a look at the Raggalds Flood and also a look at the nearby football fields, late morning that, unfortunately, coincided with a heavy downpour.

After lunch I had a walk up to Soil Hill via the fields and bridleways.

Pretty cold and very windy on Soil Hill and boggy with it - nothing much here or along Ned Hill Track - as expected really.

Another typical December birding outing on a poor day.

Birds:-

Heron, Little Owl, Pr. Pheasant, Dunnock.

Herring Gull, Common Gull, Black Headed Gull.

19 Lapwing,

A Mistle Thrush morphed into a probable Green Woodpecker  as it flew in undulating flight over Bradshaw Lane.

The bird was far off and the photo is pretty rubbish but I'm fairly sure it's a Green Pecker.

Helicopter was up checking the power lines west of Ned Hill Track.

Sue's sister Ruth is still without power at Soyland -  since Friday.

Green Woodpecker (ish)

Looking South from Bradshaw a bright ball in the sky?
No Idea what it is.
Venus?
