Sowerby Bridge to Elland & Local Fields

A Great Spotted Woodpecker was in a tree opposite our house this morning.

We had a visit to White Windows Sowerby Bridge this morning.

Afterwards Sue went to see her old boss in Elland and I walked to Elland from Sowerby Bridge along the canal.

A great day for a walk with plenty of sunshine on a calm day.

I bumped into an old work colleague, along the canal, and we enjoyed a bit of a natter, so all in all quite a good day.

Late afternoon I had the last of of the daylight walking in the fields near home to Matthew's farm and back.

A good bit cooler with a breeze but still pleasant  enough.

Birds:

Canal Walk:

Great Spotted Woodpecker.

3 Nuthatch, 2 Mute Swan, Long Tailed Tits.

Coal Tit and a few other sp.

Local Fields:

Green Woodpecker called loudly but remained unseen.

Kestrel on a feeding frame.

Mistle Thrush.

And rare for here so far this autumn - 1  Redwing.

An enjoyable day.
