Leeming Reservoir - Oxenhope.

A free day for me today.

A bit of a quandary for me this very wet morning, wondering where to go.

A  reservoir obviously , was the best option, instead of trudging around locally in the pouring rain.

But which one?

Ogden or Mixenden at the weekend are no, noes with too many visitors.

White home is one of my favourites, but I did not fancy driving the length of Calderdale (27 mile round trip)  and then still having quite a walk to the water there.

Ringstone, 23 mile round trip , is another very distant option.

In the end I opted for the nearest, Oxenhope, reservoir, Leeming which is about 5 miles from home.

Just 4 people and 2 dogs seen along the path.

A real wellie job this morning with lots of large puddles and plenty of mud.

Mild and wet, but it was good to get out after playing card based Monopoly for too long,  with Abi and Sue yesterday.

Nothing on Raggalds Flood when I stopped to look on the way past.

Birds:-

Pr. Goosander on the water, at the far side, soon flew north.

1 Drake Tufted Duck.

A large domesticated white goose is engaged to a Canada Goose by the looks of it.

3 Canada Geese.

Mallard.

Black Headed Gull.

2 Herring Gull.

2 Common Gull.

Long Tailed Tit.

Grey Wagtail glimpsed as it flew down the concrete lined drain.

Cormorant, soon left.
