The early brightness this morning was soon snuffed out by thick, cold foggy stuff.
I managed my usual local outing after lunch up to Soil Hill and I left the hill by the eastern path above the quarry.
An enjoyable walk with the fog having lifted.
Birds:-
The usual local struggle in winter I'm afraid.
Probably 30+ Magpie (14 + 5 plus ones and twos) seen along the fields and through the farms to Ned Hill Road.
1 Meadow Pipit.
1 Wren.
2 Little Owl.
2 Chaffinch.
Pheasant.
A Green Woodpecker was seen from Ned Hill Track.
Usual Gull species - but not many.
A Mistle Thrush sang from pylon wires as I had a short cool garden scan later on.
