Ogden Water

Constant fine drizzle with poor visibly throughout this morning as I had stroll around Ogden Water.

A few brave souls were here, but not many and a few birds were here, but not many of those either.

Birds:-

A Kingfisher was on the sluice galvanised fence and a Dipper was feeding in the outflow here as well.

I managed a photo of the Dipper but the Kingfisher had left by the time I got round to taking its mug shot!

A Moorhen was with Mallards along the west bank.

(Not a common bird here).

A Great Spotted Woodpecker called from distance, from woodland beyond north of the water.

I followed the call for a while but I did not manage to eyeball the bird.

Plenty of smaller birds calling from the damp, dark tree canopy, were too high in the gloom to ID.

Fewer Gulls than of  late with c20 maximum at any one time.

I did not recognise anything special Gull wise.

Raggalds Flood has some good juice, just 17 or so small Gulls there as I passed on my drive home.

Might get a Teal here soon, with a bit of luck?
