Bradshaw to Ogden and back (Weird Weather)

All togged up, I set off to walk to Ogden and back after an early lunch.

A strong N or NE wind was blowing and it was 'freezing' in the garden.

When I got to Ogden the sun came out, the wind went shopping for a while, and my circuit was very warm and pleasant.

Half way around I stopped to transfer my big woolly jumper into my pack and to wipe my wet brow with a farmers sized white hankie.

Home was via the path that drops down to the stream and up to Rocks Lane.

The wind returned with a vengeance here and a right took me along Rocks Lane for a good while to the Calderdale Way path on the left.

Cow Hill Gate Lane next, followed by Ingham Lane and the park to Bradshaw Lane.

An enjoyable tread but , apart from Ogden circuit, the birds were nearly non existent.

A careful search of the shoreline for Common Sandpiper failed to locate one.

Great to see the new toilets are up and running as well.

Birds:-

Three Great Crested Grebe.

It was good to see 2 Redshank still feeding around the water's edge, where there is tons of shoreline and as long as there are no plonkers coming onto 'The Beach' there is a good gap now between the path and the water, so less chance of disturbance.

Grey Wagtail, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Plenty of Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff and a few others.

A Green Woodpecker called from the North end.

There are now 6 Ducklings kicking about.

Stock Dove.

Heron > Oats Royd , seen from Bradshaw Park.

A few photos reflecting the outing - some a lot better than others!!

Looking North from Rocks Lane

I think Redshanks are stunningly beautiful birds.
