Ilkley

We had a trip out to Ilkley late afternoon - busy but most of the crowd were near the playground the river path was quiet.

After a late lunch there in the Riverside Hotel ..

(Utilising their 'old farts menu' - Fish & Chips (or salad in our case) , Ice cream and a coffee for £8.95 - excellent grub as well).

.. we enjoyed a short walk along the Dalesway footpath along the riverbank.

The journey home was ok as well as we opted to go over the moor past the Cow & Calf pub and through Bingley.

The only fly in the ointment was 'road works'  at Denholme. 

Although the 'hole in the road' was covered in pristine tarmac - the only problem was the barriers and the traffic lights!!

Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Sand Martin, Redshank, Oystercatcher, Pr. Buzzard.

Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail, Curlew, Mistle Thrush.

Lapwing.
