Garden and Coley / Priestly Green / Coach Rd

 A bright day, mostly, today.

An early sky watch, hoping for a Swift, failed again.

Mid-afternoon and I had quite a longish birding outing from Coley Church, through Priestly Green and a look around (mostly) the top of Coach Road Lightcliffe.

Coach Road proved difficult, light wise, with massive trees now in full leaf.

I went half way down the track before opting to return to the top and take a couple of paths nearer the golf course.

Birds:-

Garden:

Distant Raptor possibly Peregrine.

Oystercatcher calling and seen to the SW of me.

3 Gull sp.

2 Swallow, Pied Wagtail.

Buzzard (distant as usual).

Coal Tit in the bushes (unusual for me here).

A few other common species.

Lots of black flies.

Coley / Priestley Green / Coach Road:

6 Swallow at Priestley Green.

5 Swallow elsewhere.

3 Sparrowhawk - one carrying prey.

1 Sparrowhawk 'monitored' by c15 Starlings.

(Or just maybe a Red Kite... Photo's rubbish at the distance)

2 Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Pr. Collard Dove.

2 Mistle Thrush.

Buzzard mobbed by 4 Crows.

(Lots of white underwing).

3 Song Thrush.

Blackcap.

Pied Wagtail, Nuthatch, Jay.

Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff.

Just 1 Gull seen.

And a few other sp.

Home:

Peregrine?

Elsewhere:
