Ogden - Calderdale 1st for me

I met HC and BA at Ogden this afternoon to see if I could clap eyes on DJS's Pied Flycatcher.

The lads had already locate the bird when I arrived an we spent some time together as it sang constantly but remained stubbornly elusive.

Eventually it did show itself for a short period and I managed a few record shots, but they aint great!

Nonetheless my first Calderdale Pied Flycatcher sighting , a day to remember.

Later we had a traipse through the wood and located the Redstart again.

This time it was well into woodland and perched with the sun behind it, making it awkward go photograph.

After a good birding outing, and a walk home I needed a sit in the garden to recover - not easy keeping up with this young crowd!!

Thanks to Harry and Ben for an enjoyable birding outing.

Birds:-

Pied Flycatcher.

Redstart.

Lesser Black-backed Gull, Kestrel.

Little Owl.

Buzzard (or two) seen from the garden, high over Oats Royd.
