Brighouse Canal Walk

We enjoyed a short walk early afternoon along the canal and a bit of the river Calder. Not a birding walk, more a walk with binoculars!

It got nice and warm later on along the way.

Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler were singing.

3 Heron at different points.

Goosander.

Pr. Canada Goose with 1 Gosling.

Grey Wagtail, 7 Black Headed Gull.

Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Swifts were flying above the weir.

Ogden Common Sandpiper:

Woke up this morning thinking about yesterday's Ogden Common Sandpiper Peeps sightings.

They may have been Ducklings, which would be disappointing.

I definitely saw the adult bird a few times but the mega distant photo of the young bird on the west side stones, seen from the east side, could well be the adult bird.

However it seemed smaller than the plants there... Time will tell.

Speckled Wood?
